"In the Heights" won many awards Off-Broadway and is moving to Broadway this March. We have tickets for Sunday, June 29, 2008 to see what New York Magazine says "has sharp comedy, dances that feel like they might really have come off the street, and a rich, kaleidoscopic score." The cost for this "quintessential New York musical" where "the music pulses with the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition" is $116 for the orchestra seat, bus to New York, tip for the driver, and our usual bagels and coffee. I must know by February 23 if you are interested in joining us to see the matinee performance of"In the Heights" and get this early-bird price.
"Billy Elliot." It moves from the West End to Broadway this coming Fall. We have tickets for Sunday afternoon, November 30, 2008 for "the funny heart-warming tale of a young boy with a dream, and a feel-good celebration of his triumph against odds." Elton John wrote the music for it and it is based on the movie with the same name. The price is $150 for the orchestra seat, bus to New York, tip for the driver, and coffee and bagels. I submitted 8 different dates and they were all booked and I have been told that this will be a very difficult ticket to get next year and that we were lucky to get these tickets!! I must know by March 10 if you are interested in "Billy Elliot."
Note: There is no transportation for downtown shows and the Broadway shows are early bird specials, so they must be paid for in the near future!!!
