SHIR KLEZ!
SHIR KLEZ! is our own Temple band made up of several very talented instrumentalists from our congregation. Woodwind, brass or violin players are very welcome to audition for the band. The group is currently made up of adults, but serious and talented young musicians may join as well. SHIR KLEZ! plays arrangements of our prayer melodies and has a growing repertoire of Klezmer tunes. The band provides all the music for our Kabbalat Shabbat services, which begin at 6:15 PM on the third Friday of each month. The band also plays for our regular Shabbat evening services at 7:30 PM once or twice each year, and has played at community events, special musical programs and Simchas. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings once or twice a month, and for an hour before the Kabbalat Shabbat service.
