Shir Ami

The Shir Ami Religious School is embarking on an ambitious Tzedakah Project to support Pups for Peace. Pups for Peace is the only nonprofit in the world that purchases and trains explosive-detection dogs to protect the Israeli public.  It works in conjunction with Israel's security forces to identify suicide bombers and explosives in heavily trafficked cities and checkpoints before they are able to carry out their deadly missions.  PFP offers an effective and non-violent way to counter terrorism against innocent Israeli citizens.

Why support Pups for Peace?

  • It will save lives due to both the actual early warning/detection of attacks that would be provided and the deterrent effect it can have on suicide bombers;
  • It engages "man's best friend" to help protect us and bring normalcy back to day-to-day life;
  • It directly confronts and combats terrorism;
  • It is emergency support for Israel in a time of crisis;
  • It is simple, practical, and can provide relatively immediate results.

Pups for Peace has already saved hundreds of lives by successfully aborting suicide/homicide bomb attempts.  As a result, it has earned the enthusiastic support and respect of the Israel Defense Forces, the Israel Police, and civil defense authorities. Importantly, the Israeli Knesset was so grateful to Pups for Peace, it honored the organization with an award.

Since 60% of civilian casualties occur at public transportation locales, Pups for Peace has recently been requested by the Israeli Ministry of Transportation to deploy dogs at bus and rail terminals in Netanya, Beer Sheva and Jerusalem.   This new focus will require hundreds of dog teams (1 handler plus 2-3 dogs) to insure public safety.

Pups For Peace Campaign

Shir Ami’s goal is to adopt a dog; a donation of $10,000, which is the single most important contribution.  If you believe that terrorism against Israeli civilians will not soon stop, the money you give today could pay for the trained dogs that save the lives of innocent men, women and children in the near future. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR TZEDAKAH PROJECT!
