A t Shir Ami, we take great pride in our Adult Jewish Studies program. Through our Leo Slomovitz Scholar-in-Residence Program, Lunch & Learn and regular evening courses with our clergy, we provide content and programs that are targeted at increasing the congregation’s understanding of Jewish knowledge, ethics and practice.
As good as our programs are, we’re always trying to improve what we do, always learning and growing, always trying to reach more of our Shir Ami members. We feel—I feel—that there are many of you who want to study, want to learn, perhaps may even have a gift to share and teach, but we are not fitting our programs to your work schedules, or helping you balance life with kids. Maybe our topics seem intimidating, or are not meeting your interests.
Whatever the impediments, we want you to feel welcome in all our offerings, including (and especially) our study opportunities. To that end, ShALL (Shir Ami Lifelong Learning), a taskforce of our AJS committee, is working to make our program more accessible and meaningful. To that end, we need to hear from you, whether you are a regular attendee of Adult Education programs or have never attended. Please take a few moments to fill out this anonymous survey (wonderfully put together by our own Jessica and Michael Goodman!) by June 5th so that we can better respond to your needs and provide Jewish learning that is meaningful and accessible. Your voice and opinions matter and are appreciated. All you need to do is click on the link here:
If you have other questions, or are interested in the Adult Jewish Studies committee, please contact Matthew Klyman or Sheldon Halpern at your convenience. Rabbi Yair Robinson
